What FPL Draft is, and how it differs from the game you already play.

Exclusive ownership

The single biggest difference. In classic FPL, everyone can own Salah. In Draft, if one manager in your league takes a player, nobody else in that league can have him, for the whole season, until he is dropped or traded. That is what makes a draft board about scarcity rather than about who to buy.

A snake draft decides your squad

Before the season starts, managers take turns picking players, and the order reverses every round: whoever picks last in round one picks first in round two, like passing a plate both ways round a table. There are no prices to weigh, only who is left when your turn comes round again.

Picking fourth of six, for example, means picks 4 and 9 come close together, then a longer wait either side. The number of teams and the number of rounds are set by your own league, not by the format.

Waivers replace transfers

There is no transfer market. When a player becomes available (dropped, or never drafted), managers submit waiver claims, and a priority order decides who wins a contested one. How that priority behaves after a successful claim (whether it moves, and by how much) is a setting your league chooses, not a rule of the format itself.

Your league sets its own shape

Scoring can run head to head, where you play one league mate a week and the winner takes the fixture, or as total points across the whole season with no weekly opponent at all. Squad size, squad shape and the number of teams are all settings a league chooses when it is created. There is no single official shape, so a tool built for this format has to ask rather than assume, which is exactly why the board talks about value over replacement "for your league's size" rather than quoting one fixed number.

Why scarcity is the whole game

Because ownership is exclusive, the question on every pick is not just "is this player good" but "will he still be here next time it is my turn". That is what a draft board is for: ranking players by how much you lose by not taking them now.
